Tom Festle

E.ON Climate & Renewables North America

Tom Festle has served as CFO of E.ON North America since 2010, and has been with E.ON since being named Chief Accounting Officer in 2007. Mr. Festle oversees investment, financing, portfolio management, and risk management for E.ON’s North American portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage facilities. In 2017, he was promoted to additional management responsibilities as Director of Investment & Risk Management for North America.

E.ON Climate & Renewables is a leading renewables company, having invested more than $12 billion and delivering more than 8 GW of renewable capacity globally.  In 2018, E.ON, innogy, and RWE announced a planned merger and asset swap in which E.ON will acquire innogy’s renewables business, and then swap the integrated renewables businesses of E.ON and innogy for RWE’s grid services business and certain shares of stock, pending the appropriate regulatory approval.  Tom will help prepare and oversee the financial aspects of this complicated transaction for E.ON North America in the coming year.

Tom began his career at Ernst & Young, where he later served a Partner in its M&A Transaction Advisory Services group. He also served as Director of Accounting & Finance in McDonald’s Corporation’s Asia-Pacific region, as Vice President of Finance – Audit for R.R. Donnelley & Sons, and CFO of Seaton Corp. a midsized, private equity-owned services firm. 

Tom earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from DePaul University, Chicago, where he has also held an adjunct faculty position. He is a licensed CPA.  Tom, his wife Jackie, and their children are longtime Chicago-area residents and are active in numerous community and education activities.
